Brace yourself, El Nino is upon us. Winter is here! Grab your outdoor bucket list and adventure buddies to tune into an afternoon of human-powered winter celebration at the 11th-Annual Backcountry Film Festival. Produced by the Idaho-based nonprofit, Winter Wildlands Alliance, the festival premieres Saturday December 12th from 12:30-2:30 pm at Villagio Restaurant in the Village of Ellicottville.
The Backcountry Film Festival is renowned for its collaboration with filmmakers from all corners of the globe, ranging from grassroots to professional. The festival provides a fresh line-up committed to get everyone — from van dwellers to weekend warriors — awakened to the powder turns as well as environmental initiatives happening all around the world.
Created in 2004 to highlight Winter Wildlands Alliance’s efforts to preserve and promote winter landscapes for human-powered users, the festival begins in Boise and includes showings in locations throughout the United States and Canada and now in Antarctica, Europe, Australia and Asia. Funds raised stay in local communities to support like-minded, human-powered recreation and conservation efforts and to raise awareness of winter management issues, avalanche training/safety and winter education programs.
$30 general admission (downstairs)

Many door prizes: including gift certificates, Giro Helmet, goggles, Osprey pack, Outdoor Research jacket.
$50 VIP tickets (upstairs) available for premium viewing and expanded food options. VIP space is limited to 50 seats.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Family Support for Ellicottville. This organization is affiliated with the Rotary Club and is dedicated to reaching families in need of supportive assistance.
Pick up tickets at Adventure Bound or The Boardroom On Main. The film festival begins at 12:30pm, December 12 at Villagio Restaurant.
